This has such a beautiful story... Maybe to show that these people are the main characters friends/family/lover or whatever we could have the main character as a different color next time? Idk if this was due to the jams rules or not but I think a blue color would of worked great (helps capture the emotion in the character).
the sprites were actually blue when i started making the game but i changed it because it didn’t stand out against the background. all the sprites are the same colour because that’s how Bitsy works! also this isn’t a jam game!
Oh cool. Also my bad i thought it was a jam game, I thought i read something for some reason. Would you mind if i used the memory decay idea for a game I am making. I'll be sure to credit you!
i was destroyed by this game. the way you used the repetition, the metaphor of regrowth, the everything??? this game is a gem. thank you so much for making this.
haha i dont know if i'd be able to pull off long form games in bitsy! but for a longer experience in bitsy, may i suggest the game Redlander https://sunspider.itch.io/redlander which is currently in development... it's very good and seeing sneak peeks to its development is an absolute delight!
This is one of the most awesome games I've ever played - from the music to the intricately crafted Bitsy visuals and the exquisitely poignant narrative of reminiscing a past that will never return. I love it! Such an amazing gameplay experience. Thank you for creating this masterpiece :')
Hmm, people keep on talking about the music but I don't hear any, except for a single repeating note that starts halfway through. I wonder if that's a bug with Bitsy on Firefox or something. Still, even with that, this was absolutely amazing.
I mean, this looks good. Everybody can see that. And the music is so good, it works so well. But it's so much more than that. It captures grief in a way that's hard to express, that feeling of missing and longing and you have to keep going on because life won't stop. It's beautiful, and it made me cry. Thank you.
Very excited for this... but I'm not sure how to start it. When I open the game, I get the title box and music, but I can't figure out what to do next.
you might need to click inside the game screen to “activate” the keyboard! and then just use arrow keys or wasd to start the game and move and stuff! i’ll actually add this instruction in the description, thanks for bringing it up! hope you enjoy the game.
this got me GOOD bruh i was crying by the end of it, this is so personal and yet it struck a chord with me deeply in a way i wasn't expecting. brilliant job.
