(+2)

saw your email and answered! thank you for your patience :)

such a beatiful game, your story telling is spectacular. Thank you for this amazing experience :)

I'm sobbing. This game is precious. Thank u.

(+3)

I lost someone very close to me and this just hit home. This is such a simple but beautiful game.

(+1)

I was going to Let's Play this, but I started bawling halfway through the story. Phenomenal job.

(+2)

I cried while playing it. I have a family very sick at this moment so it kinda made me think about the afterwards........  Thanks for this beautiful game!

(+1)

Quiet, poetic and a pleasure to play.

(1 edit) (+3)

wow, this is so awesome! i loved it very much  < 3

this quote made me have a double take, it's so jtgrfvrjhberve

"Who do you blame for misfiling a memory

in the cabinets of your brain?"

10/10. Your games are just fantastic. Brilliant use of the medium to convey an emotional story. <3

Very emotional. A strong piece of a short game. Wow. Thank you.

(+1)

This is so epic and beautifal game.

(+2)

Such a small simple game but made me nearly cry..

so so beautiful <3

(+1)

i felt things thank you

(+2)

The story touches so deep. Thank you for sharing your work.

(+2)

so touching and so beautiful <3

(+3)

Yeah, this hit all the right spots. Beautiful.

(+1)

Simply beautiful :')

(+3)

This is so beautiful, I almost cried while playing it... Everything about it is just perfect.
Did you use borksy or other "hacking" methods, or is it just regular bitsy? I'm new to using it and was wondering how some of the things could be implemented.

(+2)

same

(+4)

hey! the hacks i used in this are:
- transparent sprites
- avatar by room
- dialog choices
- exit from dialog

i didn't use borksy this time but instead copied the hacks from sean's repo: https://github.com/seleb/bitsy-hacks

and used elkie's bitsy savior: https://aloelazoe.itch.io/bitsy-savior to patch them in. bitsy savior is great because you can update the game data of your game without having to copy the hacks again and again the way you would in the regular editor. and you get to test it in-browser too which is cool.

i added music with candle's tool: https://kool.tools/bitsy/tools/add-bitsy-audio/

and i also make art on aseprite on a 128x128 canvas first then convert it to rooms with max's tool pixsy. this makes the art making process a lot faster: https://ruin.itch.io/pixsy

feel free to download and look at the game files to see whats goin on in here too!

Hi there, I am making my own game and I'm using the tools you used to add audio into the game but I can't seem to get my audio to loop like you did. If you could explain how you did that, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

(+1)

hey GlitchedGod!

this tool is a slightly more complex version that allows you to use different audio files for different rooms and such, and you can toggle looping as well... https://kool.tools/bitsy/tools/bitsymuse-ui/

but if you're using just one track in your game, the add bitsy audio tool (https://kool.tools/bitsy/tools/add-bitsy-audio/) is still what i'd recommend and I'm pretty sure it does make the audio loop!

either way, getting a basic understanding how audio works in html might be even more helpful:
- https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_audio.asp
- https://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_audio.asp

in the second link there you'll see that you can add attributes to a html tag including "loop" or "autoplay" etc.
in my code for Under a Star Called Sun here's how both those tags are implemented in the <body>:

<body onload='startExportedGame()'>
    <body onload='startExportedGame()'>
    <audio loop="loop" autoplay="autoplay">
             <source src="music.wav">
     </audio>
    <!-- GAME CANVAS -->
    <canvas id='game'></canvas>
</body>
i guess what you can do is make sure the loop attribute is in your <audio> tag? it's hard to know where the problem comes from without seeing your code so this is the extent of how i can help for now.

Thanks! Actually it was because I didn't completely fill in those little boxes in the beepbox, just the first four columns hahaha. Thanks for your help. Your work is very cool and I can't wait to make something cool too.

(+1)

Minimalist is a complete misnomer for this game: the environment expands  emotionally and philosophically so rapidly it's breathtaking. Cannot recommend this enough.

hi this is perfect you great congrats

(1 edit) (+1)(-1)

This was a wonderful little moment. Love how much emotion one can pack with such minimalism. Great piece.

I loved it, keep on making amazing works like this!

That's a very amazing and touching experience. Great writing!

(+1)

This is one of the best games I've ever played, and I don't say that lightly. What a wonderful gem -- Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

This is a very lovely little game. I wrote a review in German about it :) Thank you for making this wonderful game <3

thanks for the write-up! your interpretation of the story/its protagonist is is very interesting, i don’t think i ever thought of the story that way.

in my mind the protagonist isnt alone in the world (part of me even thinks they’re not alone in the spaceship either) and earth very much still exists, they’re just far away from everyone!

i like that the background part of this game is vague enough that different people can interpret it in different ways, it’s really cool.

(+2)

По имени Солнцеееееееее...

(+2)

...oh god, this is strangely and brutally romantic, thank you for this

(+2)

This is beautiful. Thanks!

(+2)

This game is gorgeous. In addition to being beautiful and poignant, it also has excellent level design - I always knew where I was meant to be going which helped keep me in the flow of the story. Fantastic work.

(+2)

This was beautiful.  It made me sad.  It made me think.   Thank you.

(+1)

Masterful use of the medium, and such beautiful metaphors throughout... Thank you, Cecile, for using such elegant restraint and just the perfect number of pixels to craft this poetic journey. I will certainly be recommending it to friends who appreciate such things. Excited to see what's next for you!

This is beautiful and wonderful thank you <3

I don't know what it is, but something about this whole thing just feels... off. It's very deep and the music wonderful, like, gahd, I love this song, but... I don't know, somethin' 'bout it.

off in a bad way?

(+1)

Not really, it just makes me feel... a little on edge, like something's about to happen. It's a very interesting story, don't get me wrong, I love this.

I'm just weird, it's fine.

(+3)

Absolutely incredible - thank you so much for making and sharing this :)

(+2)

thanks so much claire! your tutorial is what helped me start making bitsy games all those years ago, so thank YOU for making that!

(+2)

Loved it. I have been wanting to play something like this for a long time. I too am a visual person and it did a great job at amplifying the writing.

(+1)

amazing, thank you for making this! still have to play though the second choice at the end; cant wait!

(+2)

I, I can't describe this game in words.

Just play it to see for yourself.

10/10.

(+3)

Holy... this legit got me tearing up

Well done

(+2)

Wow...just...breathtaking. It truly made me feel. It was perfect.
